Welcome to the world of plants! In Herbal Medicine 101 we’ll explore the uses of 8 main herbs that you can easily find locally or grow in your gardens, including: lemon balm, pine, rose, elder, plantain, chamomile, dandelion, and cinnamon. Many other herbs will also be introduced as we explore combinations, recipes and remedies! We’ll make teas, decoctions, salves, extracts, poultices, and bath satchels, many of which students will be able to take home with them. Students will also be introduced to the concepts of “herbal energies” as we practice matching certain herbs to common illnesses. Herbs and their uses will be introduced through fun and whimsical stories and direct experience crafting medicines, guaranteeing we’ll all come away with a new interest and appreciation for plants and their medicine!  *There is a material fee (per family) for this class, so please purchase a class ticket and the material fee.  The material fee can not be paid with parent hours.*
