Thursdays:  We can probably all agree that the world needs a little extra kindness these days and that is what the Kindness Challenge is all about. Using ideas from the book Do Nice, Be Kind, Spread Happy by Bernadette Russell and the Kindness Girl website we will practice some “guerilla goodness” and “ninja niceness” while sharing some crazy kindness with the Missoula community. Each class will begin by sharing examples of kind things people are doing around the country/world. Then the we will complete a kindness project. Each week there will be a kindness challenge homework assignment. Keep an eye out for that. Finally the kids will keep a kindness journal. Please send a notebook or journal with your child on the first day of class. Hosted by Jalalieh Morrow and Kerry McDermott Armstrong.

Kerry is a proud Montana native who loves yoga, crocheting, camping, motorcycling, dogs, and riding horses. In her previous life before kids, she was an X-Ray tech who worked with chiropractors and natural health practitioners using kinesiology and acupressure techniques for releasing allergies and sensitivities. She was homeschooled as a kid and said she would NEVER homeschool her own kiddos… until Ella started struggling with needing more movement and creative learning in 1st grade. This struggle exponentially increased in 2nd grade with the extra demand for sitting and concentrating on textbooks. Terrified she took the plunge last year and joined eNDVR with much trepidation. The kids LOVED homeschool and to her amazement, Cody her kindergartner learned how to read and picked up most of Ella’s 3rd grade math. As a bonus, Kerry found a new passion for alternative learning and teaching kiddos about subjects she loves.
