Week of Code (ages 10-17)
From 9:30 am to 12:15 pm
This camp is designed to walk kids through the basics of computer programming and to help them think like a computer programmer. We will use many different methods of learning to accomplish this, including scratch (scratch.mit.edu) and code acadamy (www.codecademy.com) as well as writing our own code in a development environment called BlueJ(www.bluej.org). The camp will challenge each student according to their ability so if some students have computer coding experience they will be given more advanced topics to learn. A personal computer is not necessary but is encouraged as they can take it home and work on their code outside of the camp which some students have wanted to do. Food is allowed during the camp. Prior knowledge of computer programming is not necessary.
There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for this summer camp.
