Yoga (ages 5-14)
From 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm
Basic stretch yoga is a great way to increase flexibility and heart rate. It is relaxing and calming creating a singular focus for extended period of time. Bringing a person back down to earth-back down within themselves. Strength yoga should you want to go further with it can increase muscle strength, correct body alignment and increases balance.
Basic strength yoga will be during the first part of the class for the first 30-45 minutes. Then, kids can choose to go or stay for harder more challenging yoga. This will be for older kids or kids that can deal with challenging themselves. Develop strength in muscles and sweat! This will be last for about 30 minutes or so.
Students will need rope or something long enough to step on and pull to armpits. Also, something to hold on to that is a block or thick book (or something about 8-10″) to hold on to when stretching and can reach floor. Please bring a mat or towel.
I have been homeschooling for almost 3 years. I have a 14 year old son. I am an artist and gardener. I first started doing yoga with my mother. She taught me about 15 years ago and I have been doing it ever since. She might join me one of the times who knows! I have also shared yoga with friends and some family that were interested.
